A final gift
from the earth
they loved.
Bespoke casket covers made from flowers, foliage, and botanicals foraged from the garden your loved one tended — or a place that held them. A quiet, reverent farewell. No two ever the same.
Begin a gentle conversation"When someone we love dies, choosing how to honour them can feel overwhelming."
We are asked to make decisions at the moment we are least able to. Phone calls, logistics, choices — all arriving at once, while the ground has shifted beneath us.
Traditional funeral flowers, while beautiful, are often purchased from a catalogue. Generic. Chosen in haste. Disconnected from the person they are meant to honour. They do not carry the smell of the garden, the texture of the season, the particular quality of a life actually lived outdoors.
Something is missing. Not just flowers — but meaning. Belonging. The feeling that this farewell truly knew them.
The earth holds them,
just as they once
tended it.
Foraged Garden creates bespoke casket covers using botanicals from the deceased's own garden — or when that is not possible, a gentle blend of foraged materials and thoughtfully chosen seasonal flowers.
A meaningful alternative to traditional funeral flowers, rooted in the specific life of your person — their garden, their season, their story.
A calm, guided process during the most acute phase of grief. You make one choice. Everything else is held.
Eco-conscious and impermanent by design. Foraged, seasonal, biodegradable. A gesture that honours the cycle of life rather than working against it.
Because no two lives were ever the same. Each cover is a singular, sculptural piece — made once, for one person, in one season.
A calm, guided journey
Four gentle steps, from first conversation to final placement — handled with care and intention throughout.
A short, grief-aware conversation to understand the person, the place, and the tone of the farewell. You choose from a small number of curated styles and sizes.
Botanicals are foraged respectfully from the garden or a meaningful site, guided by season, symbolism, and what is naturally available at that time.
A beautiful, bespoke, sculptural cover is created to sit directly on the casket — the final gift, made entirely by hand.
The piece is delivered and placed in coordination with the funeral director. You arrive without further decisions to make.
For families seeking something meaningful, natural, and intimate.
- Those who want to honour a loved one's relationship with their garden and the land
- Families seeking relief from decision-making during acute grief
- Those drawn to eco-conscious, return-to-earth funerals
- Anyone who wants the farewell to feel as individual as the life it is marking
- Families in the Southern Highlands of NSW who want something truly local
Each piece reflects what is alive and available at that time. The blooms, the foliage, the colour — all are shaped by the particular moment in the year. This is not a limitation. It is part of the beauty of the work.
No two covers are ever the same. And that is exactly as it should be.
